Band members on stage

What attire does the band perform in?

For most private events the band is in formal attire; tuxedos for the men and cocktail dresses for the ladies. However, often clients find other, less formal wear is more appropriate. Be sure to specify if you wish for the band to wear something other than “Tuxedo attire”. Also make sure to specify if any “theme” related attire is requested.

When does the band arrive to setup?

Expect us to arrive a minimum of  TWO hours before the band start time. Earlier setups can be obtained per quote. We sometimes set up in neat and venue-appropriate clothing, but not in our formal wear.

When will the bandleader contact you to discuss your event?

In general, Quake Entertainment asks that you submit the Event Worksheet provided to via email upon booking, about six weeks prior to your event. We will then schedule a phone conference where you and the bandleader will begin to discuss the specifics of your event. Also, please feel free to contact us at any time with any of your questions, details or concerns.

Does the band play continuous music?

How many breaks does the band take?

The band plays continuous music upon request for an additional fee. Continuous music means that even while people are dining there are a minimum of 2 musicians performing background music, and the full band is playing in between courses to dance the crowd. During a continous music event there is no lull! You and your guests are being entertained by live musicians the entire four hours. If you opt for a timeline that allows for a break, the band will take one 30 minute break during a four hour event.

Does your songlist show all of the songs the band knows?

(Can the band learn one of my special/favorite songs?)

The songlist represents the most “popular” or well known songs that the band plays, and does not list EVERY song the band knows. If you do not see a few of your favorite songs, you can ask to see if we know them. If there is a song that we don’t know, we will make every effort to perform the selection, provided we feel it can be tastefully and accurately reproduced in a live situation. Please keep in mind that’ll we’ll only learn 3 special requests. All special requests must be made a minimum of six weeks before your function. Also, if we cannot easily locate it, you must provide a CD, emailed mp3 of the song and/or sheet music. If you prefer, our audio engineer can also play the original CD version.

How long will I need the band for my reception?

What about overtime?

Our standard package gives you 210 minutes of music. Also, all of our contracts have a stipulation for overtime, which is priced per additional half hour of time. If you are not planning a four hour event, you can call us and we will help customize a package according to your specific needs.

How can I be sure you won't be too loud?

A sound technician, professional sound system and stage lighting are all included in our package. The musicians perform with a volume controlled amplifier and are experienced performers who have played hundreds of events, both boisterous and intimate. We will compensate for the room and crowd size in order to create a comfortable ambiance.   If elderly people are in attendance, it is generally a good idea to seat them at a table away from where the music will be performed, so that hearing aids don’t pick up “feedback.”  Music during cocktail hour and dinner will always be enjoyable and conducive to conversation. If for any reason the music is still too loud, it is always okay to request that the volume be reduced.

Should we set aside a meal for the band members?

A meal is stipulated in our contract, and is very much appreciated, if the musicians are hired through dinner. Banquet coordinators and catering companies are used to this service, and are always happy to set something aside as a “employee/vendor meal” at your request.

Do you need a deposit to hold my date?

When you are ready, we put a contract together with initial details for your event. The signed agreement and a deposit will be required in order to save the date. The remaining balance is due 14 days prior to the event date. Payments can be in the form of personal check, certified funds or credit card.

Do you have insurance?

Quake Entertainment Enterprises carries $1,000,000.00 of liability insurance. A certificate of insurance can be provided to your facility, upon request.

Do you showcase?

We schedule showcases based on the demand for them. Prospects can also be invited to attend certain events to get an accurate un-staged feel for what The Quake can actually do at an event.

How is price determined?

Our rates are determined by the month, day of the week, time of day and location for which an event is scheduled.
